Meet the Pastor & 1st Lady

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca.

Although raised in the church, I did not begin a true Spirit filled relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ until May of 1989 while serving in the U.S. Army.

I have been married to Crystal since June 2008. We have four girls and four grandchildren.  

I have taken many bible oriented college courses on nearly every book, section, or topic of the bible since 1993.

I love to hear God's Word by teaching and preaching because "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. I'll say that again. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Some translations say , "...by the word of Christ")
* True hearing comes when we hear the Word of God, submit to that Word from God, and begin the  to obey God by His Word. It is of the utmost importance that we continue to hear God's Word and to submit our heart to the Holy Spirit so that we will increase and live by faith.  

I enjoy in-person Holy Spirit filled church fellowship, praise and worship to God, the Word of God and prayer. Only good things come out of Holy Spirit filled gatherings.

I was blessed as a young minister to have Pastor Wardell House Jr. as a trusted mentor and father in the gospel. Pastor House was a great example of an unselfish servant leader. He taught many young ministers to live godly and make their relationship with God their main priority. He said, "We will one day have to answer to God."

I have a desire to see every believer empowered by the Holy Spirit and victorious in every area of life while growing, maturing and transforming into the image of God's Son according to God's Word and I also desire to see every believer powerfully express their giftedness from God.

*** I believe that the body of Jesus Christ (the believers) glorify God best when every gift and every talent of every believer is being used by the Holy Spirit to edify the whole body of Christ.

I LOVE to serve God's people.

I am the wife of Pastor Lennis Tarver.

I am the mother of four daughters.

I am Granny to my four favorite grands.

For twenty three years,  I served under the old school COGIC leadership of the late Superintendent Dan Slaughter Sr. and First Lady Pearl Slaughter at the Liberty Church of God In Christ in Bay Point, Ca where it was taught and shown to not be served, but there's humility in being a servant. We were taught to pray, wait and listen.

When I'm not on my natural job, you can surely find me doing kingdom work. Doing ministry building, by witnessing, serving and being available to serve. 

My current servantship is under the devine leadership of the anointed gospel teacher, my Husband, Pastor Lennis Tarver at the Refuge Community Fellowship Church of God in Christ. 

But, more than any words, description, title or accomplishments, my bio would simply read :
